Terms of Service

What you get, what it costs, and what it does not promise.

Last updated 2 September 2026

These terms are between you and Stewart Digital Affairs, a sole proprietorship at 5055 Canyon Crest Drive, Riverside, CA 92507 ("we"). Using meritparity.org or the Admitted portal means you accept them.

1. What this is

MeritParity publishes analysis of California high schools built from public government filings, and sells a report that applies that analysis to one family's student. It is research and information. It is not admissions counselling, it is not financial advice, and it is not a guarantee of anything.

2. What it does not claim

3. Accuracy, and what happens when we get it wrong

Every figure published here traces to a public filing, and the methodology page names each source. If you find a number that is wrong, tell us which one. We will either show you the filing it came from or correct it — and say publicly that we did.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. Accounts are for one family. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into yours. We may suspend an account that is being used to scrape the site, resell the data, or attack the service.

5. What you give us, and what we may do with it

You keep everything you upload — your student's records are yours. You give us permission to use them for the single purpose of building your reports and running your account. We do not publish them, we do not sell them, and we do not put them into anyone's advertising. The privacy policy is the binding description of how they are handled and is part of these terms.

6. What we keep

The analysis, the writing, the code and the design of this site are ours. The underlying government data is public and belongs to no one. Your reports are yours: print them, share them with your student, take them to a counsellor. What you may not do is republish the site's analysis wholesale, resell it, or scrape the data behind it.

7. Price, and what full access includes

The school lookup and the emailed school report are free, and the free tier does not ask for a card. Full access to the Admitted portal is $100, one time — not a subscription, not a trial that converts, and nothing recurs. There is no second charge and no upsell after it.

On your statement the charge reads MERITPRITY* ADMITTED — Stripe abbreviates the merchant prefix to ten characters. Full access opens the moment the payment clears; nothing is shipped and there is nothing to wait for.

Full access opens transcript upload and the a–g audit, your student matched against your high school's own Cal State record, the private colleges with net-price and Early Decision analysis, and unlimited school lookups. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never receive your card number.

Refunds. If the report is not what you expected, email within 30 days and we will refund the $100 in full. No form and no explanation required. Beyond 30 days, if a figure in your report is factually wrong and we cannot show you the public filing it came from, we will refund you whenever you ask. Refunding closes the paid features; your free reports remain yours.

8. Email

Asking for a report subscribes you to the emails that deliver it and follow it up. Every one carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing stops all of it immediately. We do not sell or rent the list.

9. Availability

This is a small operation. The site may be down for maintenance, and data sources are republished on schedules we do not control. We do not promise uptime, and we do not charge a subscription — which is part of why.

10. Limitation of liability

The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with this site or the portal is limited to the amount you have actually paid us, which for most people is nothing and for everyone else is $100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including, to be specific about the one that matters, an admissions outcome.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Governing law

California law governs these terms, and the courts of Riverside County, California are where any dispute is heard. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in these terms; you keep every right a California consumer has, including small claims court.

12. Changes

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and anyone with an account is told by email. A change never applies retroactively to a purchase already made.
